Family Coaching

Equipped with knowledge and methods that work, my goal is to liberate your family from eating and exercise problems so that everyone can live their best lives in the world of sports and beyond.

As long as I can remember, I have always been interested in how the world works. At first, I channeled this passion through my studies of history and philosophy but as a lifelong athlete, I eventually applied this lens to nutrition and exercise.
I immediately fell in love, devoting my education to training and coaching elite athletes. Spending my undergraduate and graduate school years at UMass Amherst, Harvard and Columbia University, I studied and worked with some of the best athletes, coaches and teams in the world.
I was granted the opportunities to learn from the best and standing on the shoulders of giants helped me understand the methods that work as well as how to avoid common pitfalls that prevent people from reaching their goals.
With over a decade of experience in the field, I have cofounded research based programs and initiatives to treat athletes struggling with eating disorders, and aim to distill the knowledge and wisdom needed to translate nutrition and exercise science into practical solutions to help you achieve your dreams.
I look forward to hearing about your goals and learning how I can best equip you to develop your own sense of mastery. If you want to learn more about my philosophy and practice, be sure to check out my press and media section and join my newsletter. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

We are overloaded with information about food and exercise, but often struggle to find the wisdom needed to nurture these relationships. My goal is to equip you with the skills and mindset needed to filter out the noise, build the confidence needed to master the art and science of nutrition and exercise, and jointly develop sustainable solutions.

Matt was wonderful. He validated my concerns and helped me realize that I can be an athlete and in recovery, and that exercise can be a part of my life again.

Matt is, simply put, the best mentor I could’ve asked for. He has helped me tremendously in my weightlifting career during and after college. I struggled with balancing social life, diet, and training, but thanks to his consultations I was able to finally overcome these challenges. Matt was very kind, understanding, insightful, and incredibly knowledgeable with his approach. He is also very up to date with current trends which was extremely helpful. Every session I’ve had with Matt has felt as if I’m speaking to someone who is wise beyond his years, and that to me is invaluable. I highly recommend working with Matt!
